Drupal wins Hall of Fame award in 2009 CMS Awards

Drupal has won the Hall of Fame award in the 2009 Packt Pub CMS Awards.

From the announcement:

We are pleased to announce that Drupal has won the inaugural Hall of Fame Award in the 2009 Open Source CMS Awards. With this award, Drupal has won two categories this year, the other one being Best Open Source PHP CMS.

Here's the distribution of the prize fund for this category:

Drupal: $4,000

Joomla!: $2,000

  • From what I can tell both of them did so bad in the awards this year and wouldn't have been mentioned at all if they hadn't made up new categories and awarded the wins for them.

  • Woot! Glad to see Drupal pull this one out against many of its great competitors like Joomla and ... Expression Engine? (is that open source)?
