The latest beta for the upcoming WordPress 5.0 release is now available for testing. Note that this is a DEVELOPMENT release and not something to install on a production site unless you want to invoke the power of chaos.

“There are two ways to test the WordPress 5.0 Beta: try the WordPress Beta Tester plugin (you’ll want “bleeding edge nightlies”), or you can download the beta here (zip).”

The actual production release of WordPress 5.0 is expected around November 19th, pending of course any major issues.

Here are some of the changes in beta 3:

  • The block editor has been updated to include all of the features and bug fixes from the upcoming Gutenberg 4.2 release.
  • The Twenty Nineteen theme has been updated from GitHub
